Hot Stone Massage Treat
Makaan uses warm stones on Marma (acupressure) points that nourish, pamper and rejuvenate. Using a combination of Ayurvedic, Swedish and Traeger and deep tissue techniques, this bodywork will surpass any state of lasting relaxation you have ever experienced. Specific oil for your constitution or issue are used. $70/ 60mins, $90 /90mins.
Hot Stone Yoga Therapy Combo
This is a guided class of either therapeutic yoga or core strengthening for aging athletes combined with a 12 minute, restorative yoga pose including hot stones laid throughout the body on custom therapeutic points. $70/ 60mins, $10 for each additional person.
Structural Yoga Therapy Privates
The first session focuses on systematic anatomical evaluation of a person's musculature. The therapist tests each muscle group for range of motion, muscle strength and pain. The assessment is recorded and added to the whole person picture and to see progress later on. Targeted asana and pranayama recommendations are chosen after careful considerations of what will most effectively bring balance. The second and additional sessions are refining the targeted custom program and teaching the breathing and more advanced ways of doing each exercise so the greatest possible benefits occur. Friends or family members may join this second guided class.
First Session - $90 for 90 minutes or more including script of program. Additional session $60-70 for 60-75 minutes, $10 additional for 2 people.
Couple massage lesson
Each partner takes a 60 minute turn mirroring the hands of the massage therapist. Each spouse receives a massage with guidance. A 2 hour experience of learning to nurture with touch. Swedish and deep tissue techniques are used. House calls at your home or at my office. $200.
Nature Stone Yoga -an original form from Boulder CO
Yoga is considered to be one of the most fully developed methodologies for self-improvement. Nature Stone Yoga allows the student to drop deep into their own mind-body experience by using themes and props taken from nature. This yoga is a flowing form of exercise that tailors itself to the issues and challenges of the individual student.
Nature Yoga is often called Stone yoga because it makes use of smooth hand sized stones, like used for massage. We use them for weight bearing, balance and relaxation. This style can fit different abilities and even beginners can see both quick benefits and experience yoga in a much deeper way.
Aging athletes who are practicing high impact sports, often reach a point when their doctor or a body parts tell them that they can no longer handle their sport and if they want to continue to exercise, they need to find a therapeutic sport, like yoga.
Although innovative it is based in the tradition of yoga taught by Sri T. Krishnamacharya, his student B.K.S. Iyengar and his son T.K.S.Desikachar. These three teachers are revered they have brought yoga out of the dark ages and made it a non competitive sport and system of enlightenment in our modern world.
